How long does it take to put in hair extensions?
This depends on the technique you choose:
Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions: 4-5 hours in a salon
Weaved Extensions: 3-4 hours in a salon
Seymour Hair Company Clip-In Extensions: 5 minutes at home!
How long can I keep my hair extensions in for?
Unlike weaves and glued in hair extensions that are semi permanent, we recommend that you that you remove your Seymour Hair Company clip-in hair extensions at night just before bedtime...because you can!
How long will my hair extensions last?
Pre-Bonded Hair: 3-4 months
Weaves: 8-10 weeks
Seymour Hair Company Clip-In Hair: can last up well over a year if looked after.
How do I look after my Seymour Hair Extensions?
Take extra special care of your extensions by simply conditioning more than normal. As our hair is all 100% Natural Human Hair, we recommend treating it as if it is your own!
Can I cut and colour these extensions?
Certainly. We recommend that you have a stylist custom cut and colour your Seymour Hair Extensions to achieve your desired look.
Can I use a curling iron or straightener on my hair extensions?
Yes, treat them just like your own hair. However, we do recommend that you allow your wet Seymour Hair Company clip-In hair extensions to lay flat to dry for optimum longevity.
Can I swim, bath, shower and so on?
Yes, as mentioned before, the hair is 100% Human so you would treat this as your own, however to keep them for longer, try and avoid washing and wetting as often as your own hair.
Is it safe to leave my hair to dry naturally?
Yes, you can treat your extensions just like your own hair. Wet extensions look just as natural and organic as freshly washed hair.
Will my new hair feel heavy?
At first you will definitely notice your extra hair. The extra volume may also initially be an enjoyable novelty - but it is surprising how quickly you get used to having a gloriously full head of hair. Our extensions are so closely matched in look and weight to your real hair that, within hours, they start feeling entirely your own.
Can I colour my extensions?
Clip on extensions have already been processed so we do not recommend processing them again. There is no guarantee they will come out the color you want. If you decide to colour the extensions use semi permanent colors or colour conditioners and shampoos. Before colouring the entire set use the tester pieces that are included with your new hair.
What colour do I choose?
We provide colour charts and sell color rings for each brand so you can choose the perfect color for you. When choosing a color choose a shade that matches your own hair or slightly lighter. Match the middle and ends of your hair and not the new outgrowth. *Colours may be represented differently on different computer monitors.
Will extensions damage my hair?
No, they will not damage your own hair. Clip on extensions are a great alternative to weaving, braiding and adhesive hair extensions, which can damage your own hair. Clip ons can give your head a rest and help healthy hair grow.
Will hair extensions work with real thin hair?
Yes, depending on the severity of the thinning. You will need enough hair to lie over the top of the weft and clip to cover it. Backcombing the hair above the weft can help hide the weft and clip. Backcombing and hair spraying the hair where you will attach the clip helps make the clip even more secure.
Can I brush my hair with my extensions in?
Yes, brush them lightly and carefully so they are not pulled out of place once you have applied them.
